I have 2 PG MPS 2240 with the following specs below:
Into 4 ohms @ 12.0 VDC -- 24 watts x 2
Into 4 ohms @ 14.4 VDC -- 35 watts x 2
Into 2 ohms @ 14.4 VDC -- 60 watts x 2
Into 1 ohm @ 14.4 VDC -- 93 watts x 2
Into 1/2 ohm@ 14.4 VDC -- 150 watts x 2
Bridged 4 ohms -- 125 watts x 1
Bridged 2 ohms -- 185
Bridged 1 ohm -- 300 x 1
I want to run 1 8w3 v2 bridged at 2 ohms on one amp and a set of comps on the other.
Now it would appear that this amp is going to **** at that with a max of 35 watts. I've been told I can't run the comps in parallel and that I should just get another amp. I really hate to do that.
I have a Precision Power external crossover, so I will be going active. Does this change anything? Should I just get another amp or should I settle on some 2 ohm comps to maximize output?
Any other suggestions?
Thanks
