I might swap my kinetik batteries for stinger good or bad idea!

I didn't read that entire thread that JoeSmith502 posted by I can easily tell you the Stinger. Simply put, models that are "equivalent" to each other, the Stinger will outperform. Stinger, Odyssey, and Hawker are all made by the same company, Enersys. I had a Kinetik HC 1400 and planned to go with a big battery in the future, so I decided to go with the Odyssey 2150. I wanted matching batteries so I got rid of my HC 1400 and got an Odyssey PC 1200. Smaller battery, but better. Voltage was a few tenths more at idle and when I was playing music (even did tones to compare differences). Check into the Odyssey, since they are actually cheaper than the Stinger. Stinger is more expensive only because it has the Stinger sticker on the battery.

good info from everybody so far.important to me because I am going to get batteries just deciding if I should stay with kinetiks or go with stinger,I know their is some other good brands.

Out of curiosity, do you do a lot of competing? Is there a need to get new batteries? If they are working fine I'd say it's better to just keep what you have, regardless of the batteries being out of warranty. More than likely you will not have any issues. And even if you do, you can always pick up new batteries down the line when something happens.

Also, I don't know the validity of this statement but I had heard that Kinetik's are great for competing with the vehicle off, but Odyssey (Stinger in this case) is a better daily battery, one that will be used while the vehicle is on.

I think the first question is if your installer deals Stinger. That would be the reason for him pushing the Stinger over the Kinetiks in my opinion.

Meh, my dad is an HR manager at an EnerSys plant, and he said he could possibly get me a deal on Odyssey batts. Anyone want some cheaper batts?

kinetik is going down. honestly i dont run them after i had the hc600 go bad i said **** it. same thing with the yeller top. one they uncharge its pretty much dead. ill try anything once but if it doenst hold up to all the hype i wont use it

Run what works..warranty or not isn't that what matters??? that it works

Some people will call kinetik (or anything) junk but people have won with it (still do) and also like them. Whole point to having batteries and extra batteries is to make sure your electronics get enough juice that they dont go up in smoke and require less maintainance vs a flooded wet cell.

funny thing is that i had the juice and the kinetik went up in smoke.

what did you have it hooked up too? A very large distributor located by me turned in their yearly "defects" a whole 7 batteries and from what i varified at their yearly show is that they have about a quarter of 1 percent defect rate on the kinetiks they sell. Also they win awards over other batteries mentioned on these forums from distributors. Also the majority of the major car audio manufacturers actually recommend kinetik..companies like alpine..pioneer, heck kicker had the warhorse on display at CES being powered by kinetik...
