I might have messed up my Rockford PBR 300x4

Hello,

i was testing some speaker and i accidentally got the positve and negative wire to touch each other, my hu is factory and it started doing a very loud defeaning sound, and i started to smell the amp and the protect light is on so i unplugged it.

I think i might have fried the output of the hu

Question i have is i do not know which one is messed up, if i have another working PBR 300x4 can i swap the possible messed up one with the working one to see if its still working? will my mess up my other system if i did this?

I cannot reach the rca to plug in to the input of the amp.

can i get suggestion on how to check

i would swap the amps out and see if the other one works. test it on low volume though so you don't dammage the other one. if the other one doesn't work, it is probably the HU. i don't see it though. i really don't thing the HU output got fried. all i can say is test, test, test.
