i know im retarded but...

hhhmm well i have a problem then..im trying to set my gain, and i thought that maybe i had the dmm on the wrong setting, but with the gain all the way down and volume at 45 out of 62 the voltage is 60 something, and it needs to be around 34 but it doesnt get that low till im in the 25-ish volume level...

any ideas?

bass on the h/u is at 0 as well

oo and im running my amp at .6, im not sure what kind of power i could get out at that impendence so i just guessed 2000 so the outpt voltage needs be aroud 34 v

both, AC comes out of the alternator, but the rectifier converts it to DC, then it's DC throughout.
TECHNICALLY, the rectifier bridge is IN the alternator, so whatever comes out of the alternator is DC voltage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Depends on the alt. Some are, or at least used to be, externally regulated and rectified.

As far as the high voltage, is you DMM a true RMS meter? If not you're probably reading peak ACV.
