so basically mount the subs behind the seat seal off the edges and use the trunk as the box? or seal it the use the trunk space to build as big as possible box attached to the face plate ?

Pretty much the second.

They have to have a box, the trunk isn't sealed. So, basically what was just said above. Fire port and subs into the cabin and seal from the trunk. Essentially, a box with a port between, or next to, the two subwoofers, slid up against and sealed against the edge. So no air gets to the trunk, and all the bass is in the cabin.

i like the box but my grand prix's seats fold down it doesnt have that lil door like the older models
