i hate verizon, its gay, fail + aids all day

i just installed the newest OS and it still seems to lag. my tmobile 8700g (GSM) never lagged like this. i go to unlock it, and after i type the password and press enter, it hangs for about 2 seconds before unlocking, etc. the tmobile version of this blackberry runs 10x faster.

any ideas?

is there a way to flash the phone with a custom rom/firmware to get rid of all verizon's gay shit?
