I hate my life :(

older pioneers have a known history of the infamous "ground loop".
try running an isolated ground wire from the headunit to the battery, or to chassis/frame?
Dkguitarist gave the same solution that I used. I had the same exact problem with my pioneer HU. I tried everything from changing RCA cables to changing the head unit itself. But nothing worked. I read about someone having the same problem, and it had to do with a ground loop problem. They said you can buy a Ground Loop Isolator, or just ground the actual RCA with some wire. I didnt have money to spend so I tried to ground it myself. And as soon as I did it, the whine went away. To this day the whine hasnt come back.

To ground the RCA: loop one side of a wire to a connected RCA imput wire. You kind of have to tie it around or stick it in between the male end of one and the female end of the other and then push them together. Once you have that connected, take the other side of the wire and ground it. You can either attatch or to the car frame itself, or you can attach it to the metal piece used to mount the head unit.

I hope this helps. let me know if it doesnt make sense and ill try to draw up a picture or something.

wow i feel like ripping everything out of my car right now too...

ive had the same problem in my car, today i went out and regrounded my headunit. STILL there. its coming from my tweeters, not my 6.5"s.

will grounding the RCA's fix this? or if i ground iso'd the headunit to the battery?

maybe its just pioneer units //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif
ima try my friends sony again today
Yup, Pioneer FTL.

Installed about $2500 worth of equipment in a guys truck about 3weeks ago here... he had the 5700 as well... and it had HARDCORE alternator whine.

I hardwired the radio, regrounded, grounded the RCA's to the amp grounds.... still had the whine...

Then I switched it out for a brand new 5700... and it went away...

i dont think i new unit is an option for me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif ... may have to talk to snova.

I just dont think i was went to have a front stage //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

one last thing i thought of is tryin a new amp, cause i didnt get an alt whine with my first front stage attempt which i used a visonilk amp compared to my JBL now.. God i dont know what to do

Talk to Pioneer......they might do the one time courtesy fix.

They base the decision on when the deck was manufactured, is what they told me.

Worth a shot.

I had it done on one of mine a while ago, and as far as I know, its still going just fine. Ask teebone, I traded it to him.

get one of these;

3.5MM STEREO TO 2 RCA PLUGS

CB-42.jpg

then get an MP3 player, WALKMAN, or portable CD player - any kind of OTHER device that is portable and can output music.

insert listed cable in music device, and insert RCA ends into amplifier - completly bypassing the headunit and the RCA's.

if you still hear noise, your amp is fuxd. if you do not hear noise - proceed to your headunit, and pull that all out.

get some of these;

AD-3.jpg

and hook your RCA's from the portable music device into the RCA's for your car that go to your amp, and play music.

if you do not hear noise, your RCA's and AMPS are fine, if you do you are left with the headunit.

i would then proceed to attempt to feed the headunit via a relay directly powered via + battery terminal using the ignition line as a trigger.

hope that helped.

ill try the first one sense i have that cable, to make 100% get the amp turned on. Connect all cabling and listen... Will it play music from the MP3 player or am i just hopin to hear nothing?

i dont think its the RCAs because ive tried 3-4sets between the CD players... and i dont want it to be the cd player, because that would be shitty to have the same problem with 2 different units.

Atleast the amp i can get warenteed //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

you'll hear music through the mp3. you'll have to turn on your headunit so your amp will turn on, just unplug the rca's and plug in the ones from the ipod and play a song. may have to turn the gains up so you can hear it well

cool ima try that right now..

PS

I tried grounding the RCA again with out luck //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i didnt know i could do that, makes ya wonder what the point of a cd player is lol.

oh yea... played crystal clear //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif , ima hit up walmart to pic up the male/female conveters in a bit.

how is the ground on your headunit? if it isn't the rca's try regrounding your headunit directly to the battery. you can run the ground wire out your window temperarilly (god i **** at spelling //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif )

i dont think i have a run long enough, but i did try a new ground with the last cd player that way and it didnt help..

Im almost to the point of takin it to a shop and sayin "ill give ya $100 if u can get rid of the noise" //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif i hate goin to shops //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
