Well i just dumped my pioneer 8600 for $100 thinkin it had problems with the RCAs. I tried everyting to correct it but couldnt. The only thing that made the alt whine go away was when i put my friends sony cd player in. So i figured it had have been the RCAs on the cd player... Well today i got my pioneer avh-5700dvd in and guess what.. the noise is back //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

so...

Im out a solid $150 from selling the cd player so cheap

and

I still have a stereo which i cant listen to.

I've had worse... I spent $1000 on tuning up and rebuilding the top end of a motor once with some A-hole mechanic when he diagnosed a tick as lifters.... then it turned out to be rod knock.... soo $1k just pissed into the wind...

It could be both units, you never know until you know.

Just go down to radio shack and buy an inline filter, should take the noise right out. My friend had the same problem with his alpine.

older pioneers have a known history of the infamous "ground loop".

try running an isolated ground wire from the headunit to the battery, or to chassis/frame?

i tried all this stuff when i had my 8600 to clean the noise and it didnt go away.

and im pretty sure it already has a noise filter inline

Have you tried using a relay to turn the radio on? You can use a relay to feed the deck battery power instead of noisy ign. power. I bet you a dollar to donuts that the noise is coming from your IGN wire to your deck. I can tell you how to wire it up if you wanna try it.
