I failed - Is this even fixable?

Well my 1889 Isuzu pickup had a really bad sound system. Some really old 4 inch speakers ( two of them ) and a really old deck, all stock I believe.

So I had my friend work on it, I bought some 6x9 pioneers and just put them behind the cab and left the front ones alone since they dont really work half the time anyways and I bought a JVC deck.

He wired it I dont know much about it but anyways so right now it doesnt look too bad but, theres wiring ducktaped in my car ( we put it under the floor edging thing its just in this one spot and its duck taped up to under the steering wheel area. ) The verdict is it works - but has many flaws.

When I turn the car off the clock and presets reset

Some one who looked at it was asking me where the fuses where and that it could ruin my car ( I don't think I have any fuses for the wiring? )

Now my Dome light doesnt work and the little beeper noise for when I leave my keys in the car or leave my lights on doesnt work.

I'm really getting worried. I'm thinking about taking it to best buy and having them install it. But I'm not sure if they will. I bought the male harness off of Ebay that I still have. I need help some one give me some advice please!

Whip out the multimeter..

yellow wire should have constant 12V.. with the car off.

Chances are it doesn't, run a constant 12v (fused) wire to the yellow wire.

The chime is probably made through your stock radio.. removing the radio removes the source of the chime. That's how it works on newer Gms at least...

The domelight.. might've blown the fuse, or else just an unrelated thing failing at the same time. Check the fuse for it.. if the fuse is ok, check the bulb. Are there any other interior lights that also come on? Foot wells?

Anythings fixable.. you just gotta dig in.. good luck.

ShiningBuick-

This solved most of my problems.

I found the 12V wire from the CAR and put it with the yellow on the deck and now it works and stays there, the memory.

I think he cut out a couple fuses attached to the wires that were hooking the original deck up though so im not sure if that makes a difference in the dome light - but maybe its just an unrelated coincedental fail and Ill test that out.

THANK YOU!!!

that seems to be the problemz you car 2 olds knamsayin cuh

The stock radio's fuse protection is a fuse in the vehicle's fuse panel, he didnt cut that fuse out. If he used the stock power wire that originally powered the stock deck, it should still be fused at the fuse panel.
