Wow they have fans coming out of the woodworks. Everybody and their mother is suddenly a diehard USF fan and has been for forever. Who'da thunk? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

Tell me about. The ticket sales will help the program though.

Once they lose again or hit a rough patch all the poser *** bandwagon fans will forget they ever existed. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

The worst fans are the ones who come to the game wearing Julmiste jerseys (#3) because that is what was on sale at the local Wal-Mart. Those people should be shot for even bringing that kind of bad luck anywhere near the team.

I like them because they are close to me..
lol. i like the rutgers too..

Any of you guys think USF can make the National Championship?
Don't get me wrong, being the only team in Florida to be undefeated, I'm cheering for them too because they ARE still in Florida, so I gotta cheer for my home state... I just don't like people who pretend to be die hard fans just because they are #2. And I think they can make it to the NC if the win out, but I don't think they can win.

OSU has had a very lax schedule this year and hasn't beaten anybody worthwhile, same as Hawaii (2 of the 6 unbeatens). AZ State... I haven't really kept up with them so I can't comment on their schedule. BC will lose to VA Tech, so if USF wins out they should be able to make it to the NC

x1000 I'm a fan but a #2 BCS bid is VERY friendly....they would get dominated by a team like LSU.

Althought Ohio State will loose and if they win out they probally would make the National Championship, which I'd love to see. But I'd rather see them in a BCS bowl game where they won't get there *** handed to them, something like the #5 vs. #6

Totally overrated IMO. I can't wait too see them get the shaft for a BCS game and everyone be so mad and upset, then get the shit kicked out of them at their bowl game...

There is no doubt about it, if USF goes to a National Championship game that shit will be a landslide. Grothe is still very young and can play great one game and **** *** the next (see the FAU game before UCF).

I think they will be a legitimate top 5 candidate in a couple years when there is some experience on the offense. The defense is winning games right now and picking up the offense's slack a lot of the time.

There was a very good article on ESPN that talks about everyone who hates the BCS system should be cheering for USF to make it to a national chamionship game. Some very good points that explain how USF could lead to a rebellion against the BCS system and hopefully bring in a new playoff system. There is just too much money in the BCS bullshit though, I don't think it will go away anytime soon.

I don't know ANYBODY who likes the BCS. If this is the case, why haven't they amended or disposed of this ridiculously flawed system?

Correction... there is too much money in BOWL games for a playoff system. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Buckeyes and Bulls hold the top two spots as the Bowl Championship Series standings debut Buckeyes and Bulls hold the top two spots as the Bowl Championship Series standings debut

By RALPH D. RUSSO, AP College Football Writer

October 14, 2007

NEW YORK (AP) -- Ohio State has been here before, leading the Bowl Championship Series standings. For second-place South Florida, it's another breakthrough in a season full of them.

The Buckeyes and Bulls held the first two spots in the first BCS standings on the season released Sunday. The top two teams in the final standings released Dec. 2 will play in the national title game in New Orleans on Jan. 7.

The Buckeyes (7-0) can thank the poll voters for making them No. 1. Ohio State is No. 1 in both the coaches' poll and the Harris poll, which are two of the three components the BCS uses in its standings formula. Ohio State was also the new No. 1 team in the AP Top 25.

"It's always nice to be in the top position, but we know it doesn't mean anything now in week 8," Ohio State tackle Kirk Barton said. "We'll see at the end of November how things stand."

The defending Big Ten champions know all too well that leading the BCS standings doesn't guarantee a national title. The Buckeyes were first in the BCS standings all last season, but they lost the national title game, 41-14, to Florida.

The final third of a team's BCS grade comes from a compilation of six computer rankings, and that's where the Bulls (6-0) scored big. The computers have USF as the top team in the country. The Bulls are third behind Boston College in the coaches' and Harris polls, though they are No. 2 in the AP poll by a comfortable margin over BC.

The Bulls, out of the Big East, had never been ranked before this season and the school only started playing football 11 years ago. Now coach Jim Leavitt's team is in the thick of the national title race.

Ohio State, tied for fifth in the computer rankings, has a BCS average of .942 out of a possible score of 1.000. USF's BCS average is .920.

Boston College (7-0), seventh according to the computers, is third in the BCS with a .891 average. LSU (.840) and Oklahoma (.762) round out the top five.
