The music itself didnt sound too bad, they just need to find a drummer NOT on crack and a lead singer that doesnt sound like a gremlin. That goes for like 95% of the songs. They need to calm the **** down.

I actually totally agree about the drummers. Aside from Hellhammer of Mayhem, most of them are really ****ing annoying and just flat-out play too much. Hellhammer plays a lot, but he is so good.

Did you like the Xasthur track? If so, he has some instrumental stuff that also uses a drum machine, which is not as over-the-top as some real drummers.

I used to hate the screaming too. Now I love it. Acquired taste I guess.

But yeah, the mix was for some people on another forum. They were already familiar with some basic BM, and some bands were already on metal mixes they had made. That's why I left off some obvious stuff like Emperor, Darkthrone, Marduk, Deathspell Omega, Dissection, Immortal, etc.

There was 1, maybe 2 tracks that I personally thought were ok. I honestly dont even recall the names to them. As far as I know, Gorgoroth is the only truly satanic band out of the group. Most of the others just write evil lyrics and pretend to worship satan, though they are probably just annoyed at christianity in general. Marduk and Nokturnal Mortum are strongly nazi, which isn't too great either.

Along with Summoning and Borknagar, Windir is often considered folk metal. Folk metal is generally more melodic, less brutal, and has less offensive subject matter. If you liked them, you should check out their album Arntor. Also check out the bands Ensiferum, Finntroll, and Enslaved, those are big names in the folk/black genre.

Oh seeing again that you like melo-death stuff, yeah you should love those bands I recommended, for sure. You would probably like Dimmu Borgir as well. I'm guessing you are familiar with Amon Amarth already?

ah yea. i saw that crazy documentary thing on hte lead singer...that dude freaked me out, but at the end of the final clip, felt very, very, very at peace for some reason....i find nazi bands entertaining for some reason lol

ill check those bands out man... havent had much new metal to listen to since the new Dark Tranq cd Fiction that came out. Im listening to clips of amon amarth and they sound liek my cup of tea //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif listened to dimmu borgir, and didnt liek them all that much.
