i am now in credit card debt

yes, it has messed up your credit, you have a 120 day late on that account plus a 90, 60 and 30 day late...it doesn't look very good at all...Your credit score lowered because of that but it won't kill you...

I would not get rid of the card, that will stop your credit building or should i say rebuilding now that you just ****ed it up...

Also why the hell do you have your daddy paying your bills, pay your own **** bills, you are 18,fegboy...I am sure if you have your own bank account that you could pay your own bills online and then this wouldn't have ever happened...Trust noone to deal with YOUR life...They never be as careful about it as you will...

read the thread and you would see that i am not am home much that i am on the road constantly.

Also, call the credit card company and talk to a resolution specialist or some customer care rep and see if they can work with you onyour late payment reporting, sometimes companies will work with you. See what they say and do whatever you have to to get that bill from going to collections...That ****s your credit up even more...GL
BEEN THERE NO HELP got a payment sent out to them itll post today.

That sucks, if I were you I would just pay all my bills myself with my own account. It helps prevent little mishaps like this.
Yup. Take care and organize your own stuff. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I understand you are not home much, however, most billpays have an option for recurring payments. Why couldn't you set one up and never worry about it again? Unless you cut it close too much

lol, you got pwnt by daddy and capital one. lol

i'm in debt myself and i just got new credit card account opened up yesterday. woo!

You got me beat by one card! For what it's worth all three are maxed the f#ck out!

i take care of my credit. never any late fee's but i have gone over. i now have 2 cards that are payed off 100%, 1 card with 75% on it and a dell credit line with 25% on it. i'd say i'm doing pretty good with my debt.

Pay it off all at once, trust me. That whole BS of people saying pay it off little by little builds credit is exactly that, BS. Credit is built by making payments on time and through time.

What credit card companies WANT you to do is pay it little by little so they can make their money off you (interest) and why would that make your score better? It doesn't. I've paid pretty much all credit card bills on time, though I have slipped a few times and had to give less than the balance and my credit was in the 700's. My parents make their payments on time and pay in full and their credit is in the mid to high 700's.

Years upon years of owning a credit card builds credit as well. Don't cut up that credit card, however, use it from time to time, but make sure you have the money first, which is why people fall into credit card debt in the first place...not having money.

As for your credit score, don't worry too much about it. You're young and still have years to build good, stable credit. Just focus on paying it off, use it time to time to build credit and let time take its course. If you're planning on buying a car, either way your interest rate will be high and it would be better to have a cosigner to lower that interest rate.

Look into getting a credit card with a higher limit down the line. I used to have Capital One and they only gave me a $1,500 credit. They wouldn't do more, so I went with Chase and I have $5,000. This was about 3 years ago, so now with a better and higher paying job I can increase the limit, but I find no need to. Try and see if your current company can lower your interest rate. What might work is if you tell them you got offered a lower rate by another company (even if it's BS) and see what they say.
