HU won't power up

I drive a 1995 f150. I have been using Alpine CDA-9807 for about a year now. Yesterday i tried to install an ipod adapter and now my HU will not turn on at all. I checked my fuses and one was burnt out. I tried to power on my HU and it still did not turn on. I tried to put back the factory stereo and that unit does not recieve any power as well. Can anyone give me some suggestions to check please. I am really frustrated at this point.

did you replace the fuse that you noticed was blown?

Yes i replaced the fuses. I am using the factory ground, should i make a new ground?

That wouldnt cause your head unit not to power on.. Id say make sure your 12volt source's are wired up correctly..

is it possible for the wire to melt? I'm pretty sure its wired correctly because i'm using the factory connectors.

You'll need to take a DMM and see if it reads anything from the power and ground wire in the harness
