Its an external digital analog converter geared for car/boat audio made by High Resolution Technologies. Its made for I-Devices. so thats WTF it is.

Yes, I saw the soundman videos and it sounds promising. I also belong to a headphone community wherein we use headphone amps and external dacs. External dacs bypasses the ipod/iphone dac and there is really a noticeable, and not placebo effect. I'll be getting the istreamer this week and would share my impressions on it on this forum. If its that good, share the love.
