lol, I was trying to do the same thing but couldnt' figure out a good way to turn it on off.

What voltage does the REM itself carry? Could you just wire the positive to the rem and get the voltage reading from that? Though it would be the head unit voltage, not the voltage the amps are seeing...but i'd rather have that than a switch.
