Box plans for two Pioneer TS-W305C/DVC Subwoofers:

External Dimensions:

Height - 15"

Width - 30"

Depth - 18"

Thickness - 0.75" (3/4" MDF)

One 4" diameter x 8" long port

Net Volume - 3.2 ft^3

Tuning Frequency - 31hz

Does this box sound good? If so, what should the cuts be for the MDF? Does it matter where I put the holes for the subs and the port? I'm thinking I'll have the subs facing the rear, and the port firing towards the back seat.

Sounds good to me....I would have a bit more port area though, you might get some port noise, and you deffinately will not acheive maximum potential.

ya man, 2 4" ports minimum, but i would build a slot port with ~40 sq in port or more.

Could someone tell me how to make a slot ported box, tuned to around 31hz, that will fit within 40x30x18 inches?

Now I'm thinking I'd rather tune a bit lower, just to make sure my sub can play everything. I know some songs play below 30hz, what would they sound like in a 31hz ported box?

3 4" pvc each being 36.35 in. long for a tuning of 30 hz .....port displacement= 0.886

port area=37.68

4.089-0.886= 3.2 of airspace for both 12's.......walllah

So, do I make the ports stick 6" out of the box? Why wouldn't I just use 2 ports?

get some 90 degree pvc bends. if u have 6 in. sticking otside the box the tuning would be even lower.

and the more port area ya have the less likeliness of having port noise. trust me.

hell ya might wanna put 4 4'' pvc in there, but then the ports would be even longer.

place a string in the middle of the bend, cut it, take it out and measure it.
