Wantitng to take the 2 zen motors I have apart for the magnet slugs. I have several end cut billet steel blocks that are big enough to build motor parts out of. Want to make a quad stack motor. Basicly to see if I can and to try out my new to me rotary table.

WoW I can't wait to see the thread

" I cant type any more because my fingers got smashed between the magnets ****ing with magnetized motors , I had to buy this text to speech software to poast"

I dunno, ive got some REALLY SMALL slugs (like 3" diamater) to seperate out before to use as magnets on my fridge //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif

but there was alot of throwing of the motor involved //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Ok better ? who can demagnatize the motor! Already new I couldnt just pull them apart. Need someone to demag the motor and once I put it back together to remagnatize it. If that will not work found some magnets on e-bay and can have them sent to me demaged.

Another ? is where to find the grease for mounting fets to a heatsink. Going to machine a matching set of sinks for my amps.

Waiting on steel and have some free time to waist untill after the first of the year.

Yeah e-mailed the guy to see about getting them demagnatized and if I can get a discount on 14 of them. Enough to make 2 4x stacked motors and 2 3x stacked underhung motors like the ED subs.

Its not all that hard if you have the tools. My K&T 210 mill and Harding 4ft lathe make quick work of the front and back plate. Have had probally 50 different subs apart looking and measuring their motors. Getting the magnets alighned and magnatized looks to be the hard part. Next is getting VC in the configuration I want. The underhund motors I have seen use a shorter VC. Next is getting the VC positioned in the gap right. Should be centered in the magnetic field. LOL been reading all the info I can find on the subject. Info can = knowledge if used correctly.
