how to properly shave your pubes???

ok so i keep mine pretty well trimmed down and i have occasionally shaved them all the way to the skin, and it is much better IMO(no itching) and i am wondering what the best instrument for this would be, because when i take the regular razor to them it just makes me really nervous and idk i havnt cut myself but my instincts tell me that it would hurt really bad, so what do you guys use or have used to get the job done a little safer?

I just use a 3 blade razor and its fine. I have nicked myself before and it doesn't really hurt, but its pretty hard to do... probably dull or something i don't remember.
