from the settings you have on the HU, sounds like its turned up rather high, the amp might be turned up high as well.

all that doesnt matter because your quantum 1000w probably does 500w rms @ 1 ohm, 200-300 @ 2 ohms, ~ 150rms @ 4ohms. i would upgrade the amp first, and set all the settings with a dmm on the new amp. take a look at the kicker 400.1

turn volume knob to the right, but remember, it can also turn back to the left.

What probably happened is:

the new decks output is flat and the the old one had some eq in the low end.

Pretty much every OEM H/U has some eq built in to tune the system. Some have only 3 bands per channel, but others have more, like time alignment, phase and full crossover functions just to name a few.
