how to check voicecoils

ok it might be my ears but I think one of my voicecoils might be messed up is their anyway to check them without taking the sub out the box. I might of heard that it could be done with a DMM.

anybody have a clue.

reason is that it will be a mojor mission to take out the box and then the 54lb sub

 
set your dmm to ohms and attach your dmm lead + to the voice coil + and dmm - to voice coil -. It should read the ohms that your vc's are rated at (ie 2 ohm or 4 ohm).

well I couldn't wait any longer so I took the sub out to my surprise both voice coils sound the same. I don't know if it might be the box or even my amp. The sub still sounds loud but not exactly the same:crap:
