How much volt drop is too much ?

Under certain conditions im getting drops from 13.9v to 12.5v

So what is too much/acceptable for daily drivers ?

Your voltages are normal. When it drops to 12.5 that means your alt is maxed out (or not responding fast enough) and the power is being pulled from your batt.

Its normal for daily drivers to have a voltage drop to 12.5-12.6. If you go lower than that then you'll need a second batt.

You could upgrade your alt but I would only do that if dimming is really bad.
