Would 2.5" be sufficient between the wall in my car and the face of the port, firing toward the wall?
Just a daily, planning on bassracing 129's.Is firing the ports up a possibility? That seems to be a very safe way to build truck boxes. You could use the entire width of your cab that way, too. Use slot ports if necessary. That is how my current box is setup, with a 4" on top. Except with this box it is a whopping 5.25" on top and I plan on slimming that down to 4" or less for legroom.
If not, a 3" port firing into a 2.5" gap to the side shouldn't be a big issue, especially if you place the ports as far forward as possible. I wouldn't fire them into a 1" gap. If you're set on firing aero's sideways, go ahead and build the box 45" wide, provided you're just building a daily driver.
52"-45"=7"No pics, I'm looking into building a box now.I roughly have a total width of 52" from wall to wall to work with. The 3" flared port is going to fire on the left side of the box.
The box is going to be symmetrical on each side, so it will be placed in the middle no matter what. I want to know if I should make the box 50" (1" between wall and port) in width or 45" (2.5" between wall and port).
Not giving me enough leg room lolllright but whats wrong w/ current set up?
