how much power should i run into l7?

i have a l7 in the pre-fab kicker sealed box. Is rated at 750 rms and i'll be recieving my bx1500d sometime next week. How many watts should i drive into this subwoofer and still be safe? 800? 900? or just stick with 750. Plus when figring the math out on he gain setting. should i put the desired wattage into the equation or still put in 1500 x 1ohm?

thanx for the reply, yea i was thinkin the same too so should i just put 750 into the equation to get the right voltage?
