How much power does one 12" type R need?

Would A Rockford Fosgate P3001(300x1 @ 2 ohms) be eunf to push one 12" type R 2+2ohm sub(300 w rms, 1000 peak) Im not trying to have loudest possible for that sub, just want tight clean bass and need to know if its enuf power.

Sorry pal, unless that amp can do 1 ohm its not enough watts.

You can wire into 4 ohms or 1 ohm, not 2ohms

I would put atleast 600 watts on the type r.

yeah the type rs are 300w per voice coil

I would say get a 400 rms amp for that sub.....obviously doing 400 a 4 ohms or 1 ohm
