How much does upgrading to beefier subs do on the meter?

On the power you have HDS300's should be fine. Get it playing and go from there....

Same power, actually sub amps will be at .4ohm vs .5ohm before....

You had 6 18's right so you going to what 20 10's or something equally stupid lol (in a good way stupid of course) If your keeping cone area close I guess you won't need the massive powerhanlding of the hdc 4's anyways..

Couple of 10's ported vs a 6th order. I have faith in the new build, not that the 6th was bad. Just subs got hot too fast as there was very little cone movement. Tried a horizontal clam and had much more excursion but lost 2.7dbs....
