How much do you make a year $ ?

2800 a month on a house is a little far fetched yo, i know here if you were buyin a $500k house you would get a pretty **** nice one, i know that my house was built like 15 years ago but the value of property and whatever else has gone up, alot. i know my dad buitl this house for close to 300 15 years ago and now its almost trippled its value. but still 500 here will do you pretty well just depending on where it is. thats only 1600 a moonth on a 30 year payment plan
$1600 a month on 500k is a bit far fetched....unless a shitload of money was put down. For instance, at 1% interest (far fetched) with 100k down 1% property tax and no PMI...payment would be $1619 a month.

around 30k right now still have some raises I'm in line for. the thing i care most about is my Pension plan and 401k. even though they have almost cleaned my 401k out. nothing spectacular, but i work for a pretty good company and all i have is a diploma.

The company I work for scrapped their pension plan a year ago...sucks since I've been there 10 years and was hopin for an early retirement someday //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif

I never said you sold drugs?
Im talking about living comfortably..I dont think you can live very comfortably on 45k.. if you think so... great. You and I obviosly have different standards of living:) (and fwiw- im debt free minus house payment, which isnt much... around 2800 a month..)

nice.
"not much" he says. i own a 10 year old 2 bed 2 bath house, 2 car garage in wichita ks, decent neighborhood... 700 a month mortgage payment. i make more than 45k a year with my overtime, but you can live very comfortably in a cheaper part of the country on 45k if you aren't an idiot (as in these jokers that spend 8 bucks a pack on ciggs, eat fast food everyday at 5-10 bucks a pop, gamble, buy the latest and greatest of everything)

I also work in construction but I made 96K last year, paid around 7K in taxes FTMFL
You must be gettin better deducts than I do...made 91k and paid 12,900 in taxes //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wow.gif.23d729408e9177caa2a0ed6a2ba6588e.gif

Shit, just looked and that was only federal...I paid in 3500 to state too....that sucks!

Federal and state I'm at 18% combined. Not to take the Timothy Geitner excuse...but I used turbotax //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif
