i made just under $10k taxable last year. just enough to get all my taxes back and then some

over twice that if you include non taxable income and other ventures

i make 50-60k a year, depending on how much overtime, building airplanes.

I was on track for 6 figures but all of the Corp raises were frozen, Incentive Comp was killed, and no bonuses. In return I also give up all of my freedom and usally work 7 days/week (aprox 12 hours/day M-F and 4-8/day on weekend).

Sounds fun.

i wouldnt call it fun, but its not bad for a high school dropout (GED)

the big money is in overtime. you pull time and a half for everything 8-10 hours and saturdays, everything past 10 hours and sundays is doubletime. after you do 3 weekends in a row, even if its just saturdays, all weekend time is doubletime until you have a weekend completely off.

fine. i havent noticed any change with my job, but i work at basically the only aircraft company that isnt laying people off. too much work for them to do that, we're actually taking on more and trying to make do without hiring.
