We also can't discount the fact that some of those 20 plus year old amps are still running just as good as the day they were first installed! I know because I sold a generation 1 punch 150 to a friend of mine many years ago, and he is STILL using it in his system. Another friend is still running a generation 2 Punch 150 that I sold to him. I remember purchasing that amp on closeout when the HD series came out in the late 80s/early 90s. But getting back to the newer, cheaper stuff that produces much more power. Since it is made in Korea or China on non-Milspec boards, how long can we expect this stuff to last. Furthermore, if it craps out, what are the chances that the newer production stuff can be repaired?
