How long intill you think Sirius phasses out Ai-net?

I've been thinking about getting the lifetime sub on my sirius tuner but not if Alpine is gonna come out with a new connect type anytime soon. Also does anyone know if subscriptions are transferable?

umm the subscription is for one unit dont thinkit is transferable, and AINet is alpine connection not seeing it go anywhere anytime soon...

You can transfer them, say you start with an Alpine box and switch over to a pioneer. I was talking about to other people.

Sirius will charge you to transfer the subscription from one unit to another.

Also, I doubt Ai-net is going anywhere. Too many accessories have been designed by Alpine that utilize this connection.

probably not. but you could transfer it to another unit and keep it in your name. and if you are suave and savvy, you will catch my drift.

i thought the lifetime subscription was linked to one tuner only... meaning you cant transfer it...its the lifetime of the radio..not you..

regular subscriptions are transferable for a fee..

If I'm wrong drop the link saying you can transfer a lifetime subscription to another radio... thats the reason i didn't get a lifetime..

The sirius Rep I talked to, said that under extenuating circumstances... you can transfer... like if the tuner itself breaks... but anything else is something like a $75 charge per transfer...

Shit they changed it since i looked last.. looks like you can transfer them for $75... that aint to bad really..a lot better than losing the lifetime if the radio breaks.. thats the way it was when i first looked.

Alpine does have another new interface called IONBus, but I still think AINet will be around for a while yet..
