AQ was started by DJ(Leon)
DD was started by DJ's son Jassa
Jassa was looking to buy AQ but things never panned out.
DJ does not live in OKC any more and AQ is now ran by Jassa and Vicki(Wife of Jassa).
Vicki tries to hard to run a business in my eyes. She means well, but things always seem to slip up and they put to much faith in people they should not.
Jassa likes to be involved with R&D then the business side. All though he does chime in from time to time.
The largest issue is that it grew from a mom/pop kind of setup to something much larger and they have yet to adapt to their new size. I'm sure over time they will or at least they will force their way through everything like they have been.
The name change has been in the talks for a while, however, I have no idea why they chose that name or how they came up with it...or a better question would be who thought it is was good enough name to actually use.
In the end DD/AQ(SQ now) will be here in some form or another for how ever long they see it fit to allow them to be. From what I know financially they should not be having much if any issues. The only huge hurtle for both companies is growing pains which seem to be lingering over them right now.
