How fast do you think 800 watts would blow a CVR

I really want to try my amp at full power but all I have right now is a 12 inch CVR

(15 inch SSD on the way)

I never got to try it at over 300 watts yet and its killing me

Its a diamond D3 800.1 and I am going to wire the CVR down to 1 ohm.

Should I try it or will it blow the sub really fast?

Keep the gains very low, but I wouldnt do it

we had a kicker comp vr dual 2 in a kicker vented box and an orion 1200d on it, my buddy ran it @ 4 ohm for a while and then i said screw it lets dump that b!tch to 1 ohm and give it hell... lasted about a month or two i think, threw another face on the kicker box and put an h2 12 in it and it was a ton louder and sounded better and eventually blew one of the corners of the pre fab box out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Using the same basic logic as the people who run 5,000+rms to any sub "daily" (notice the quotations), you can put any amp on any sub....

...You just cant turn it up for more than 30 seconds at a time.

It will be fine if you're smart. Just watch the sub and if it starts to overexert back it off a tad. most subs can take a ton of power if you're smart about it.

keep the volume moderate for most of the time

you can crank it but just dont do it for long

if you do that you should have no problem
