My new amp from Jynx came in today, but before I could celebrate, the thing made for a shocking discovery - static! Lots of it. It's constant, the gain has no effect on how loud it gets. The crossover / qbass settings don't affect it, either. It's there, I can't get rid of it, and it's annoying. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crying.gif.ec0ebefe590df0251476573bc49e46d8.gif
Now, my install is far from perfect, so rather than assuming the amp is bad, I want to do all I can to minimize this static. Jynx went through the effort of getting me this amp a day early, and I owe it to him to do some digging and modifications to my install before making any assumptions and judgement.
The power, ground, RCA, and speaker leads for one side are *ALL* run in parallel. So close they might as well be braided. The power and ground are basically sitting in top of the crossovers, as well. The amp is less than an inch from the crossovers. All these things (I'm assuming) could cause static, yes? So if I move all those thing to the trunk, and put some distance between everything, would it help? Any other sugguestions? Thanks.
