What I'm trying to do:
I have an old JVC KD-AVX33 that I would really only like to use for its display and for bluetooth calls. I do not want to replace my stock stereo at this time.
My goal is to convert the audio output from this head unit into a simple 3.5 mm stereo mini plug that I can then plug into the AUX In port of my stock stereo.
Yes, I know this probably sounds like the stupidest thing in the world, but please humor me //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif
Can I simply take an RCA->MiniPlug adapter like this and plug them into the JVC's front RCA Pre-outs:
3-Ft. 1/8" Stereo to Dual Phono (RCA) Plug Y-cable - RadioShack.com
Do I have to modify the head unit output in anyway to produce a usable signal that can pass through my stock stereo's AUX in port?
If the answer is to only connect to the front speaker wires/rca pre-outs, what if I watch a DVD on the JVC that has any type of surround sound? I am assuming that any "rear sounds" would be lost?
If that is the case, how would I resolve that?
Thanks!
