This thing is for sale on Craigslist and I think I can get it cheap but how come it does 1000 watts @ 1 ohm and only 300 @ 2 ohm? Kind of weird....

idk if it does 1k. from what i have heard it doesnt. iirc someone told me 800ish

because it doesn't do 1000 at 1 ohm.maybe max it does

So not a good deal then? I just saw US Amps and assumed it was ok.

they have made a couple decent amps since 1999 but not many. need to get the ones from pre1999 for them to be good.

yah, 99 and before, they were actual high current amps, mid-99 they sold the same amp, with the same ratings in 4/8ohm, but not high current, and half the size. i have seen that type of rating, and it is like 300@2ohms, 14v, and 1k@1ohm 17v. so, you will never feed it 17v, or whatever high voltage, so you will never see that power from it.
