Hey People,
Nice forums ya'll got here - hopefully you can help me out a little bit. Now, I don't know if you all need my specs for this problem, if so I'll go get them. This is more of a general AMP problem - I hope ya'll can help me out a little.
I've had my California Profile amp pushing (1) 12" P1 woofer for about 2 years now. Recently I was driving down the road when my sub cuts off. It had came back on a couple of minutes later, but this is a constant and repeated process.
I looked at my amp, and the green "Power" light on the side is fading on/off. I've triple checked all of my connections (reapplying some of them), I've checked my power-wire's fuse, the area where my power-wire is running through the firewall, and I've traced all my wires back from the subs until they get to my dash (I haven't fully removed my CD player - just laziness - but I did loosen it and then jiggled it but nothing changed).
I heard that it could be the remote wire (p cont), so I ran a jumper from my Power-Wire port on my amp, to my Remote wire port. The green light lit up for about 1 second, and died. I hooked the original remote back up and started messing around. It seems whenever I step on the gas (even in park), the amp's green light starts fading on, then disappears. This tells me that the remote wire is properly hooked up, and the Power-Wire is still hooked up and reading. Could my amp be....dead?
I understand that it would be my best bet to take the CD player out - I will a little later today - I was just hoping that somebody might have a solution to why this would start happening now, when nothing's changed on the system in the past year and a half...
Thanks, in advance, for your feedback!
