How can I fight this ticket

Alright, so I was just driving home from work, about 11:30PM I am going 40 in a 45 cop is behind me and I had no idea, I am just cruising doing nothing wrong, after I notice how close this car was following (1 car length) I start to wonder if it was a cop...then he turns his lights on and his bright light near his mirror is just shining the **** out of my car (no tint) and I pull in.

It's Friday night, I expect for him to think I am just a kid up to no good on a Friday night drunk right.

He says Do you know why I pulled you over, I said no, he says well you crossed into the middle lane 3 times.

Then asked me if I was drinking, I responded no and showed him my uniform with my name tag on it and my clock out slip and he just asks for License and Insurance and him and his other officer proceed to jerk eachother off and return 10 minutes later with a ticket.

He said it was some kind of campaign.

Any ideas on what I should say entering court on Setp 30th.

Any help appriciated.

Sorry for the wall of text, I am terrible at telling stories =(.

that sounds like its gettin dropped to me. A swerving ticket? Unless u have a crazy record you should be ok. I got pulled over for 1 plate (gotta have two in MO) and it got dropped. And these guys wrote the book on being dicks

Not at all, though I have a good feeling I can get it dropped, my friend got a ticket tonight for aggressive acceleration in a Honda civic (manual with pipe so sounds like he is moving)

The cops are just doing some sort of campaign and really getting people for no reason at all.

labor day weekend, everyone is getting shook down this weekend depending on where you live and drive around.

set up a court date. call the court and tell them you wanna fight it. 9 times out of 10 the cop will not show up to this. the department would rather spend paying his wages with him on the streets then fighting a gay ticket like that in court. if that is the case and he doesnt show up, you win by default. now if he does show up and they ask what caused the swerving and such, tell them you were taking off your work boots and putting them in the back seat or something along those lines, so then there would be an excuse for your wheel to turn and cause you to come over the center line.

or you could say that you were sneezing and your allergies were acting up. and everytime you sneezed it jerked the wheel. everyone knows you cant stop a sneeze, or at least sneeze with you eyes open

say you were sneezing. taking off work boots while driving would be negligent driving. not reckless but negligent

Take a hearing, ask for a break - if the ticket was for not staying in your lane you will get a break, it's not the traffic violation of the century. It's just good probable cause for a DUI stop. Odd that you got a ticket, for the most part police issue warnings and move on to save time and get more DUI's...

Although I doubt that's the whole story, good luck with your hearing it should work out for you.

Maybe local's.. but definitely not staties. Still though, you'll be good for a break, it's a minor moving violation compared to speeding, careless, etc.
