i still agree with the logic of why buy it if its not accurate... audiocontrols are notoriously inaccurate and inconsistent. so it might give you a ballpark idea of how loud you are, but if you listen to a few cars that you know the accurate levels they are at, or meter your own vehicle and can assertain what levels of pressure feel like what (and you should be able to tell the difference to a certain degree) then you dont need anything in your dash telling you that you are plus or minus 10 Db from what it says... and that is about how accurate that unit will be. its your own decision ultimately. but its more of a wow factor than it is useful. doesent take a legal score, doesent even give you any idea what your pressure is at any of the known locations (head, kick, legal, port... all it does is estimate at the dash). for the price, youre better off paying someone with a TL to meter you a couple of times, or entering a few comps. plus, with a mic, you can learn alot more than you could with that but on the flip side, it does have the epicenter, which is a mostly useless contraption IMO. and before anyone flames me for that statement, yes, i have used one, and yes, i really do think its useless. it does allow people who cant get loud to get loud though. and it does allow people who dont know how to operate speakers to blow them.
