Hooking up two 8ohm drivers without an amp...

How does a rear deck "put out 4 ohms"?
Also, how are you going to cross them over?

nG
Well, What I meant was the rear deck is being powered by my headunit which does 60x4 @ 4ohm. And I dont know/didn't know I had to cross them over.

Wow dude youre screwed, sell those speakers, Your deck puts out MAYBE 15watts rms

You bought the complete wrong speakers, sell them, and pick up a 4 ohm lesser power replacement

I bought those speakers a long before I got this headunit with intentions of amping them, I came across them in the garage a few days ago and hooked them up and they just didnt sound right. That's when I noticed they said 8ohm on the magnet cover. Which is why I made this thread. I would have tried it, seeing how incredibly easy it is to connect two wires but my car is at the shop. While browsing for an amp for my subs it made me think of this subject, and I got intrigued. That is all //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

You also can't bridge your HU, you'd be running them mono off of ONE side of the HU... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

That's all I need to know. thx
