RE XXXs are only made in quad 1.2 ohm if im not mistaken. The HC comes in quad 1 or dual 2.

you are not mistaken, they come in 1.17 ohm per coil, but in my experience it doesn't make that big of a difference...

i have 1200 rms at 4 ohm to push and im not wiring down yet. i have the biggest alternator that will fit in my car (105a) and i already blew it running it at 2 ohms

i have an autotek mx-1300 and it does 1200 rms at 4 ohm and 1600 rms at 2 ohm. running at 4.8 ohms for the RE XXX would give me only 1100 watts rms give or take, or i could get the HC and run it at 4 ohms and have 1200 rms

HC rms is 1200

XXX rms is 1600

lol when i got my idmaxes and my hifonics amp i took them to get installed (i didnt have the time) the guy was like I've seen 900 dollar amps that werent good at 1ohm.......... they kept looking at my hifonics amp, like it was crap........... then he was like u need to get 2 of those amp... he was like a guy came in with 1 12'sub and a jbl amp and it was way higher then your 2 subs.... then he was like your voice coils are around 3.7ohms each so your at almost 1ohm now cause we hooked them up at 2 ohms....... I was like what and i felt stupid for not just getting 2 shivas and a jbl 1200 then i thought about it my subs are dual 4ohms....... if u series wired them they would be at 4 ohms total 8 ohms a sub......... I was like dang thses dudes tried to hussle me today i checked the distribution block I specifally told them to hook up 2 4 guage wires and conect them and send them to the amp.... so that i would have to special order 80 amp fuses when they blew..... guess what? only 1 4 guage wire going to amp with a 60 amp fuse.... i couldnt even say anthing after i get my car fixed u best belive im getting my stuff droped to one ohm and another 4 guage wire and ground ran to my hercules 1300 watts can beat my 1500 watts my ***...and the amp is underrated

yeah blowin a fuse sucks. I decided that i didn't want to keep paying to replace my fuse if i blew it so i am just buying a breaker. It is a little bit more expensive (like 40 dollars) but alot easier to use.

i had my autotek at 8 ohms on my MOMOs and when i wiried the amp down to 2 ohms, i melted my fuse caseing and a foot of 4 awg wiring...lol. i had 80a fuse and i upgraded to a 1/0 fuse and 150a ANL. that solved my firehazard. ill take a picture of the melted fusecase tomarrow.

glad to hear you like that XXX.......if nothing else them sum*****es is menacing looking! I'd like to see some pics of the final install if ya have time.

Yeah i showed him the sub, he looked at it and told me that there was no way it had an Xmag of 32 mm...
