I really wasnt worried much about sitting the amp on the box as almost all my setups were like that and never had a problem. lol Though thanks for the information. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gifthis whole thing about "mounting on the box is bad" is a load of krap...it makes no difference whether its on the box or 1 inch away on a panel, the vibration is basically the same. As long as everything is secure and tightly fixed (box to car and amp to box) its fine. These amps are made to survive in a driving environment eg. sharp turns, sudden stops and acceleration, speed bumps, rough roads etc. all kinds of vibrations... more amps are damaged by user error, overheating, shorts, physical and water damage AND one of the least likely causes is vibrations from being mounted on a box. Rubber washers are a good idea no matter where the amp is mounted
hope that puts your mind at ease
p.s. how much did that 80sqft of deadener cover?
It covered about 97% of my my whole trunk and the roof of the car as well as the side panels.
