We had an "outside" inspector" come by and go over the house before we signed anything. The builders wern't happy about it, but they got over it. There were a few things that needed to be "fixed" after he did the walk through. Thats fine and dandy, also a bit redudntdant since they have to pass county inspections before closing. An inspector can only look for code violations. He can't help or do anything about the fine details or minor shit. Even if it's a million minor things.
