you better buy yourself a Prius then and have lots of money if you wanna be able to completely quit using coal because you dont seem to realize how cheap coal is go use some other form of energy i bet your bill goes up a good amount

What I was trying to say is that shutting down nuclear plants and opening up new coal plants would be a very stupid decision. I understand coal will always be used but it cannot be used exclusively unless giving ur kids all forms of cancer is cool with u.

Wind & Solar = free bub. Any type of energy consumption takes initial investment, they had to spend money on building those coal power plants, so arguing that it costs money to build wind/solar farms or equipment is kind of moot. You can't get much cheaper than something provided for free by nature. (Considering you don't have to spend money mining it)

It's also not unreasonable to think that if they do experience meltdowns that radiation could reach the US. If that **** gets blown up into the atmosphere it could travel thousands of miles...can you say nuclear winter?

do you realize what it would take to run a whole country on natural energy tho. And if you are gonna quit using coal because its dirty you might wanna think about that **** that can leak out of a nuclear plant to because they aint the safest in the world.

Im not saying we shouldnt try to use mother nature a more but we just wont ever be able to run a whole country off natural energy

One of the reactors is using plutonium and uranium. Uranium is bad but pluto is a beast compared to it. This could be devastating to the world much less japan.
