The whole entire lineup is revamped, hence the new pricing structure. A new Tempest, be it 15", 12", whatever, is nothing like the old one. If you want to spend $150 on a driver, pick one they have that costs $150. You can bet you'll still get great performance from it.

Is the Brahma really only rated at 600 watts? The old one was rated at 1600. If its really only gonna need 600 to reach full excursion, that could save me a ton on an amp if I decide to get one.

Not sure about Adire's situation, but even IA noticed a jump in prices when going to Visionary...

Problem is damos that they're not selling factory direct anymore...so you can't be confident the prices will drop.

1) They decreased the voice coil size from 3" to 2.5". Notice the note at the bottom that they rate all 2.5" coils as having a thermal capacity of 600w.

2) The Brahma is a fairly efficient beast. Those old ratings were just "thermal" ratings anyways. In the right box, even the old design would reach full excursion with only 600w.

Im sure A-V wouldnt do that to us...they advertise "budget woofer" a few times. When the old Tempests were in stock, they were selling em for 150$ shipped.

They wouldnt grab us by the balls and charge 250$ for a 15" and call it budget.
