holy crap @ xbox 360 prices

Yeah, the prices are dear god insane. I'm already perfectly fine with my PS2 with VGA on my computer monitor, so sweet to finally play with resolution!

I'd say, fvck the xbox unless the price goes down, and ebgames and gamestop have gotten price happy with their current inventory as of late.

But then again, i am a pirater all 800 games downloaded BWUAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

I have 4 wireless XBox 360's pre-ordered (3 of those are bundles). I'm not even much of a gamer. I used to dump crazy hours into Burnout 3 on Live, but that's about it.

I'll put 1 in the HT room and the other in the bedroom, sell the other 2. Of course I'm interested in their 3 RISC cores @ 3.2 GHz for mad graphics and claimed backward compatability with standard XBox games, but I'm very much interested in setting up Media Center system in my home and controlling it from the 2 XBox 360's over the network. Way cool.

Personally, I think the prices are good for what you're getting. Yes, they're high compared to other console systems, but there's a lot more going on in the 360 now. And... the PS3 will be even better (and probably more expensive). Those won't come out for probably another year or longer though.

What I'm not happy about is the increase in price for the games, and MS's plan to nickel and dime you to death on Live. Some plans include charging 50 cents for a car upgrade, or 10 cents for a new weapon... game-dependent, of course, and that won't be on all Live games (at first). I also wish they would do more with all of that horsepower, like allow a Linux OS for other applications, without it being seen as a "hack" (although it would be).

for real wait a year - they will be 300 if they are the prices they are now - maybe 400, but that is a good 300-400 cheaper then what you are spending now

Quake 4...Oh my. Excellent graphics, amazing just amazing.

Test drive was OK, nothing beat s grand tourismo 3 & 4

Call of duty....I would be willing to bet that this will be one of, if not the best war games made as far as graphics and realism.

I like the updated controllers, they fit better in yur hand. Oh and its a much quicker load time IMO.

That is correct...core is 299 and ult is 399

Yep. Sure was. Sheesh, the original XBox was sold out across the country last Christmas, so they were selling for up to $700 on eBay last year, around this time.

For the extra $100, the Premium version (or whatever they're calling it) is well worth it. You get the $100 hard drive upgrade and a wireless controller. The bundles out there are not really different than getting the bare system and buying all the games individually, it looks like. Not a discount for a package, but many pre-orders only came that way.
