I have someone who wants to sell me a jlw7 sub for CHEAP, but there's a nickel sized hole in the dust cover, or whatever its called. He says it has nothing to do w/ the sound quality, and he has it covered w/ tape. Even though it has nothing to do w/ the sound, it looks like crap. Can the cover be replaced, or do I have to live w/ it?

if it can, does anyone have a ballpark amount of ching?

thanks

The dust cap is just that, a cap that keeps dust and debris out of the voice coil. The ugly hole in it is purely cosmetic in this case. You can CAREFULLY remove the dustcap (it's just glued on) and glue on a new one if it bothers you that much. You'd have to see if JL would sell you a new dustcap. Personally, I'd just find a cool looking sticker and put it in the center of the dustcap to cover the JL logo AND the hole.
