Hockey fans, players?

I usually play around 4 to 6 games a week. 90% inline though I play for 4 inline teams. I just got back into playing ice after a 14 year break , I hadn't played ice since high school. Oh ya I'm a diehard Pens fan being I've lived my whole life around the Pittsburgh area.

right on dude, I play inline as well. This past summer I played for the State Ohio state wars team, we actually won gold

Reffing is VERY political at the college level. Basically they "use" younger kids under the guise of preparing them fpr Pro games, but that never happens. I've seen it happen to a lot of good refs in my area. I stick to D2/club when it comes to college as those games aren't under the radar like D1/D3 stuff.
I also do some juniors stuff, mostly a few showcases they have each year. Tier II/III midget, HS, and returning juniors players trying to impress college/juniors scouts. I've seen some amazing players over the past few years...

No, just local Chicago/Milwaukee teams, mens and womens

Have done some AAA Ohio teams. Nike/Bauer is the biggest AAA tournament in the US and it's local to me. Get teams from all over the US, Finland, Sweden, Canada, and Russia.

they play at robert crown rink in evanston. I ref Northwestern women's there, usually after robert morris plays. Their games **** so i don't ref them anymore, way too many fights/cheap shots.

yeah, its stupid. But as long as there is something to watch its not that bad...I think of it this way: Im a hockey fan before Im a fan of any NHL team

Yeah, well, this happened not too long ago and both sides came to an agreement, one that was not in the players favor...then they build up goodwill again, start making money hand over fist and the owners get greedy again. And have you seen how much it costs for a family of 4 to go to an NHL hockey game? It's fucking ridiculous.

Yeah, well, this happened not too long ago and both sides came to an agreement, one that was not in the players favor...then they build up goodwill again, start making money hand over fist and the owners get greedy again. And have you seen how much it costs for a family of 4 to go to an NHL hockey game? It's fucking ridiculous.

I do remember that now that you mention it. And it really is crazy how much that **** costs. And proffessional athletes just make way too much money...wayyyy too much.

It doesn't matter if it is the NHL, MLB, NFL or NBA...what drives the cost to attend a professional game today is corporate money...all those corporate VIP suites pay for A LOT and that helps to legitimize what the athletes get paid.
