Hey guys, I'm looking for a HO Alternator for my 00 Acura TL and so far I only found 2 options. The first would be to take my alternator out and get it rebuilt by Ohio Generators to 190 amps for $300. However, I would need to take it out and would probably take about a week til I get it back. Don't think this is really doable. The second option is an Alterstart Alternator. Has anyone heard about these? Are they a good reputable company? They have a direct bolt on HO Alt for the TL. http://verizonsupersite.com/4alterstartcom/pages/store/skudetail.nhtml?profile=highoutputalternators&uid=10180&returnURL=http%3A//verizonsupersite.com/4alterstartcom/pages/common/sitesearch.nhtml%3Fquery%3DAcura%20TL&catuid=10013 It's 180 amp Alternator for $300 and an extra $25 for a 4 gauge power wire. Is this required or recommended? Also, is it normal for Alternator to acheive full power at higher RPMs? It says it produces 80 amps @ 800 rpms and 180 @1800 rpms. Is that normal, does that mean I can't play my system loud at a traffic light? Any other companies that sell TL Alternators that you know of? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
