Hello all ! i am in the process of purchasing a good amp and maybe one 12'' or two 10''s any recomandations in as far as in bass and clarity ,what amp should i match the subs?whats the best subs out there for a budget?is it better to have one 12'' or two 10''s.Also keep in mind im trying to work on a budget i mainly listen to hiphop r&b any help would be appreciated and also i will be using the system as a dd.

1 12 vs 2 10s depends on the sub and application.

since you don't know too much about car audio, i'd say keep it simple. get a single 12."

well i was looking in the range of 350 for a nice setup but since reading many threads about sq and spl i got kind of confused in what will sound better,money is really no object in all reality but since i seen nice setups for sale for nice prices i rather keep it on a budget and rather spend the other cash on buying rims etc..

bass and clarity is what i am looking for.

Two 10s of the same brand/model will outperform a single 12 because they have more cone area, all other things being equal.

Ok now that i got the two 10''s out of the way what two 10's would sound nice for the setup im looking for since i am manly playing hiphop and r&b.what brand should i look out for that can with stand power and give out good quality for a reasonable price?

97 gs300,Trunk space is ok ,i haven't really did any measuring but i guess two 10''s will fit nice and have enough space for some shopping.

you still didn't say you care about tonal accuracy. does sound quality matter to you?

if so, arc flat lines, image dynamics, fi q, stereo integrity mag, are all good options. if price is a problem, the fi q or id probably the cheapest of the bunch at around $150 a piece per 12.

$150 for a q?

Two 10s will be good but a single 12 is a lot cheaper. Usually not much difference cost between the sizes.
