HID kit question

yes real easy. 10-15 mins
i think your time estimation varies within your vehicle not everyones. when i installed my HID kit i had to remove my front bumper and remove both headlights in order to run my wires dso they wouldn't look all sloppy and be held properly in place to avoid loose wires. on top of that i had to find a good dry location to mount my ballast.

overall it took me more than an hour to do.

easy? if you can wipe your ***, you can install an HID kit.

i guess lol. most of the cars ive installed them on have taken me like 15 mins, took more time to see where i wanted to mount the ballasts than installing them.

Mine took a bit longer as I also had to remove the front bumper and the entire headlight housing to drill a hole in the dustcover on the back of the headlights to run the new wires and such into the housing. The first gen Mazda 6's use a stupid plug that powers all 4 lights in the housing, which is a proprietary type of plug that plugs into only one location. Had to drill out a new hole behind the main light to get the HID wires and such in there, then use a grommet (supplied with my kit) to keep water out. Also mounting ballasts and such.

All in all I spent about 4 hours, but I also cleaned the engine bay and front bumper and everything as well as do the HID's. HID kit time was probably about an hour to 90 minutes or so.

As far as ease goes, one of the easiest things you'll do if your using a Plug-N-Play kit. Retrofit... not so easy. :p

*waits for all the Retrofit enthusiasts to come in here and bash PNP kit glare and such //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/tongue.gif.6130eb82179565f6db8d26d6001dcd24.gif*

X2! I was pissed to cause I went to a shop and they wanted 200 for an HID install. I went home and did it in 10 min

i retrofitted my headlights with TSX projectors. that shit took me a good 6-8 hours. though, in the end, i won't go back.yeah, you fools w/o teh proper projector using HIDS are FTL.
I would but they dont make projectors for Explorers //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif:crap://content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

that's why you retrofit.
