to answer your question about the Hertz and JL comparison. They seem to be comparatively similar. i think the JL will have a little more response and better sound quality. i have never personally heard a Hertz so i cannot say from experience, just by looking at the facts, although i have heard MANY JL Audio systems including the 10W6V2 and i think you would be very pleased. High SQ but still can get decently loud

Anyway, what number should I look at in subs to indicate responsiveness. I don't even know if it's the proper term. I listen to a lot of trance/techno and it's very fast. I loved my 10W6V2's I had. VERY loud!! but i'm looking more for SQ now. ahh then the 10w6 would be awesome. like i said, ive never personally heard a Hertz sub but ive never seen them used in too many SQ setups. you cant go wrong with JL for an SQ setup IMO. especially with that amp, it'll sound very clean and response will be nice
